Most of the money — $97.5 billion — of the Mobility 2050 plan will be spent to improve and expand freeways, tollways, tolled managed lanes and major thoroughfares. About $59.7 billion is allocated for rail and bus improvement projects to promote the use of public transit as a major transportation option for North Texas commuters.
