Adams Morgan’s Popular Streeteries at Risk of Vanishing
Greater Greater Washington
The District Department of Transportation is trying to change the way streateries are regulated. Starting November 30, 2025, all “temporary” streatery permits are set to expire, and businesses with existing streateries will have to obtain a “streatery design permit” from DDOT or be at risk of “enforcement actions.” Those restaurants would also have to pay $20 per square foot of streatery space annually.
