Centre for Cities’ latest report shows the size of the prize: by increasing bus frequencies, reducing journey times, and better linking services with rail and trams, six of the largest cities outside London could connect an additional 1.2 million people to their city centres within 30 minutes (Figure 1). Metro mayors now have an unprecedented opportunity to drive growth in their areas by prioritising steps toward integrated transport.
