MARTA began replacing all Breeze vending machines, faregates, and fareboxes across its transit network, launching the new Better Breeze tap-and-go system that will allow payments by bank card, smart phone, or mobile wallet, as well as introduce new physical cards. The system, which officials say will be fully implemented by spring 2026, promises improved security, reduced fare evasion, and phased station construction at multiple Atlanta locations.
