Lake Havasu City, Arizona, has become a magnet for Californians, starting with the COVID-19 pandemic but fueled primarily by lower taxes and housing costs. In 2023, which was the last year that data were available, 5,358 Californians moved to Mojave County (home to Havasu) compared to only 2,651 Arizonans.
