What Climate Change Will Do to America by Mid-Century

An authoritarian American president has pressed what can only be described as a policy of climate-change acceleration, destroying commitments to clean energy and pushing for more oil production, worsening global warming and making communities less resilient to its effects, with many places expected to become ‘dead zones’ where services and comforts will be in short supply. Those most severely impacted by intensified disasters, rising insurance costs, and climate gentrification will be poor and minority communities, as climate disruptions drive migration, economic instability, and threaten American democracy.
