Black & Veatch found that more than half of utility leaders said having available power is the biggest challenge to getting data centers online, and that more proactivity is needed in the planning process. Building a data center takes around 18 months, while it can take utilities between three to six years to install or upgrade the infrastructure necessary to power them.
