Hennepin County Wants More Development Near Public Transit, and They’re Helping Pay for It

Hennepin County has distributed nearly $53 million through its Transit Oriented Communities grant program since 2003, funding over 180 projects that created or maintained more than 18,000 housing units and 3,600 jobs near public transit lines. This year’s $1.7 million in grants went to five projects including a new headquarters for KMOJ radio station in North Minneapolis and a Passive House-certified housing development in Hopkins.
